In this letter we pointed out, that Sibai et al., who could not show an influence of magnesium supplementation on fetal outcome, supplemented both groups of patients of their double blind study with magnesium in a vitamin/mineral preparation. So they compared only a higher dosage with a lower one. In addition we calculated their results assuming a higher number of treated patients showing significant differences.
